Leaving the past behind....

Life comes with problems

"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin -- real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

-- Fr. Alfred D'Souza

The first requisite of success is the ability to apply your physical and mental energies to one problem without growing weary.

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

Calvin Coolidge (1872 - 1933)

"You can't leave one foot in the past while moving forward into the future"

*Our whole family had the privilege of watching this little cicada emerge from it's "old skin" into his new body & we all found it fascinating (I forgot to grab the camera in time to get pics of him half-way in his "shell"). It got me thinking...isn't it funny how the simple things in nature can be so profound sometimes :-)

I love your pics and the quotes are great! I commented on Karen's bug post last night. My Aunt Marilyn did a post on a really cool ant they found. It had red fur. What's up with the cool bugs?

Sometimes I don't get dressed for the day until 5:00...pm, and on the weekend I let my kids eat cookies for breakfast. I drank coffee (and sometimes diet coke) when I was pregnant. I use under eye concealer to cover up my zits & I bake when I'm stressed. If you can deal with all that....then welcome to our family blog!
