Quick update

I would hate to disappoint my loyal blog readers by not having a new post this week, so here are a few random pictures from last weekend.

McKenna was quite the social butterfly last weekend when she had TWO parties to attend. The first was a costume party on Friday night & the second was a "Princess" birthday party on Saturday. She had a blast all weekend & I had fun dressing her up both times :-).

Eeek! It's a giant 4 kid mummy!

Chandler and his "best girl". That's what he calls his big sis. How cute is that?

"Princess McKenna" and the birthday girl :-)

What's up with the stars in the middle of the forehead? Must be a hot new princess accessory I'm not aware of-hehe!

Getting ready to leave for the party. She was so stinking cute I just had to take a picture.

Judah's chubby cheeks just keep growing!

My favorite baby sleeping position. Gotta love those tiny little butts all curled up in a ball! (Pssst...don't tell my pediatrician I lie to her about my kids sleeping on their back!)

Oh, heck...while we're keeping secrets you also might not want to mention to McKenna that her little sister steals her clothes for "dress up" while she is gone at school all day.

It's our little secret Maya! ;-)

My sweet family!

I feel like just having a "brag on my family day :-) So, here goes...

First, a cute story about McKenna:
The other day McKenna came home from school and announced that she had been invited to a costume party that another little boy in her class was throwing. I told her we had got the invitation in the mail, but I wasn't sure if I wanted her to go to a party at someone's house we didn't know very well. I asked her if she knew the little boy, and she said "well....no, not very well... but he told me he wanted me to come to his party & I think I should go". When I asked her why she thought she needed to go to his party she said "Because he doesn't have any friends & everyone is mean to him, and makes fun of him, so I need to be his friend!".

WOW! I almost cried right there on the spot! I was so impressed that my little girl had such mature thoughts and ideas. I don't know what I did to deserve such a great kid, but I do know that I'm blessed to have her! Oh.....and she WILL be going to this costume party on Friday night (with her daddy!).

Speaking of our "Daddy", I think he deserves some sort of medal after all he has done the past couple of weeks! One of our biggest concerns about having a 4th child was figuring out how we were going to manage the chaos and mayhem of life with 4 children 6 and under!! However, Jonathan has stepped up to the plate, and he is making this transition look easy. It's no easy task to wrangle our 3 oldest kids, but he has done a super job these past 3 weeks & I think I love him more right now than I ever have in our whole 12 years together. :-) Just last night he came home from work and went straight outside to mow the lawn until sundown. Then, he came inside and bathed all three kids, got them ready for bed, read to them, sang to them, and put them to sleep. THEN, he cleaned the whole kitchen before he went to bed! What a guy!

I know I'm blessed beyond measure to have such a wonderful husband, and believe me... not a day goes by that I don't thank the Lord for him :-). I don't know how I got so lucky, but I'm so very thankful to have him as my best friend. I don't know how I would keep my sanity raising four little kids without a partner like Jonathan.

Now, for some random cute pictures....

Everyone in our house is mesmerized by the cuteness of Judah-LOL! We really do just sit around and stare at him while he sleeps. It's the cutest thing in the whole world to walk into the room and see the older 3 huddled around the swing watching him :-). I love it!

Maya in a rare "shy and sweet" moment. It's true that in recent days I've been heard to say "three is not my favorite age...", but every so often she will do or say the sweetest thing & redeem herself in an instant!

How come you never remember how dog gone TIRED you feel during the newborn days?? Is that God's way of making you crazy enough to do this all over again?

*(NO... I am not trying to say there will be any more little White's in the future. God didn't make me so crazy that I forgot to seek a surgeon's help in ending that possibility once and for all! We are not in a competition with that family from Arkansas!)

2 Weeks Already!

Little Mr. Judah is two weeks old already & I'm once again reminded of how fast time flies when you have a newborn. He still sleeps most of the day, but that doesn't stop me from cuddling him all the time. He is quite the cuddle-bug & he's starting to show signs of being a wee bit spoiled from all the snuggles by refusing to sleep in his own crib at night...but you won't hear us complain about that ;-).

Now that Judah is here with us I finally feel like our family is complete. He filled in that "missing piece", and it's amazing how easily everyone has adapted to having him around. In a way it feels like he has always been a part of our family...he just "fits".

I'm going to try to get some better pictures soon, but I thought I would share a few cute ones I took yesterday. Enjoy!

Sweet little feet.

Monkey toes!

Sleepy face.

I call this the "newborn curl". It's Judah's favorite position & I think it's the cutest thing ever :-).

Such a serious little man.

Baby Love + Some FYI

I realized after I posted the slide show that I never really gave any info regarding Judah's arrival. For those of you that did not already know, our little guy arrived on September 29th at 8:49 pm. He was a whopping 8 lbs 14 oz and 20 inches long. Yes...he did arrive about 12 days ahead a schedule, but that was a last minute decision made by my midwife and I. I have a history of very fast labors, so when we found out that I was already 5 cm and 90% effaced at my regular appt on the 29th, we decided to go ahead and just break my water that night at the hospital & get the show on the road...instead of having the baby on the side of the road in the days to come!

The induction went beautifully & I only ended up having about 75 minutes of "real" labor to deal with. Although, those people that tell you there is no difference between a 6 lb baby and a 9 lb baby (as far as delivery is concerned).........well, they can bite me! Um....there is a BIG difference, but we won't go there for the sake of our male readers! Suffice it to say that I'm completely content knowing Judah is my last baby. Lord only knows how big the next one would be if I were crazy enough to go there. I think I'll just stop while I'm ahead :-)

Now that Judah has been home for a few days we are starting to find a bit of a routine. Although, I'm sure it will take a good while for me to get the hang of four. We have even ventured into the outside world twice now & lived to tell about it, so that's something...right?? I'm not sure when I'll be brave enough to go out by myself with all four, but that day will probably be here sooner rather than later.

For now, I'll just leave you with a few pictures of our new little man. Enjoy!

He likes to sleep.....a lot!

Sweet boy.

Big yawn!

Big sis sure does love him :-)

Sometimes I don't get dressed for the day until 5:00...pm, and on the weekend I let my kids eat cookies for breakfast. I drank coffee (and sometimes diet coke) when I was pregnant. I use under eye concealer to cover up my zits & I bake when I'm stressed. If you can deal with all that....then welcome to our family blog!
